In the present scenario most of the people no matter a Student, an Army man  or Teacher  etc  are aware of a Service Selection Board Interview. As in the present competing world most of the students are interested in joining  Defence  so they take many exams like N.D.A,C.D.S.E,A.F.C.A.T  ETC  to get an officer rank in Army , Navy or Airforce.  But to get selected one has to pass one of the toughest interview procedure  i.e  5 days S.S.B  Interview. In This blog I have described the complete format of S.S.B Interview for those defence aspirants  that do not have any idea or less knowledge about it.

This is a five days interview process in which the day 1 is called the screening day in which Basically two main tests are undertaken  which  are:

• Verbal and non verbal written test
• Picture perception and description test

In the first one the simple aptitude test is taken in which the simple verbal and non verbal questions are there. The level is simple but the speed and accuracy .The second test is picture perception and description in which candidates are shown a hazy picture in the dark for 30 sec the and the given 1min to draw the idea to form a story, main character, action of the story etc. And  then  4 min are given them to write the story based on their  perception then the sheets are submitted by assessors and after that the candidates are divided into group of 10,12 or any. Then they sit in a semi circle in front or the Psychologist, Interviewing officer and G.T.O   .then the process starts in which every candidate starts single story narration one by one and at the end of it the group discussion takes place . Then after some time when this process is done for all students then Result is declared. The candidates who qualified the screening test  remain there for stage 2 and others are sent back on the same day. The selected candidates fill all the necessary forms like P.I.Q , Travelling Allowance

In the second day  (also called psychology day) consist of much written tests in which the T.A.T(Thematic Apperception Test ),W.A.T(Word Association Test),S.R.T(Situation Reaction Test) ,Self Description Test T.A.T is a test in which 12 pictures are shown and candidate has to see the picture for 30 seconds and there write a story that strikes his mind by seeing that picture in next 4 minutes This process repeats 12 times and at 12th time there is a blank picture shown in which the candidate has to write any story that comes in his imagination. The second is W.A.T in which 60 words flash in front  of the candidate each for 15 seconds each, thus, the candidate has to write a sentence related to that word.

After that S.R.T is there in which there are 60 situation written in a booklet which is to done in 30 minutes , the candidate has to read the situation and write his reaction and after this test there is the last test called self description test in which the candidate has to write what he thinks about himself, What his parents thinks  about himself, What his teacher  thinks about himself, What his friends think about  himself and what he want to be in his life and his weaknesses.

After all these tests some of the candidates are interviewed on the same day and rest are left free to play, visit the city or whatever.

In the third and the Fourth day there is ground test like Progressive group task 1,2 and 3,Half group task ,Snake Race, Individual obstacles, Command task , Leatherette, Group discussions and   Group Planning  Exercise takes place. The assessor  will tell about the rules of all the ground tests and then after the completion of all the tasks remaining candidates are interviewed by their respective interviewing officer and other can rest or visit places or do any thing .
In the five day ,the conference interview takes place that hardly continues for 1 min or 2 for each students (exceptionally 10-15 min  for border line case candidates) then finally the result is decleared  based on the performance of the candidate  after lunch  and Recommended candidates remain there for medical and rest are sent back to home.
